Comment
An uptight psychiatrist (Noel Coward) has an affair with the old school friend (Margaret Leighton) of his wife (Celia Johnson). There is nothing wrong with the acting or Noel Coward's dialogue, the problem is that it is difficult to feel any empathy for any of the characters. This is how the British upper middle class conducted affairs very properly and with decorum. The three leads are good actors, but this is not the best of Noel Coward's plays and Noel Coward seems miscast as the husband.
